1960
In the face of rising prices of cattle feed, a group of farmers from the district of Aviron set themselves up as a syndicate in order to better serve their common needs.
October 23, 1967
They take the decision to transform their group into a cooperative. The founding members of the Board of Directors form a close knit and united team. Since that date the history of the Coopérative des Avirons can be looked at from the point of view of the long list of structures it has created and the actions it has taken, with the sole goal of helping the people of the island work together for the development the agriculture on Reunion Island.
1969
Construction of the first building to stock cattle feed.
1970
Launch of the production of cattle feed.
1974
Rapid development of the cooperative's activity. In this year the tonnage is doubled and in 1979 it was quadrupled. The decision was therefore taken to change the machinery and the production and to set up three work rotas of 8 hours.

1982
The birth of URCOOPA. The development of livestock farming leads to the construction of a bigger production factory.
And thus was born URCOOPA (The Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Reunion Island) with the involvement of 4 cooperatives:
- Coopérative des Avirons,
- CANE,
- CPPR (The Pig Producers Cooperative of Reunion Island),
- SICA LAIT (The General Interest Enterprise Agricultural and Milk Cooperative),
and the support of the UNCAA.
1984
The opening of the first self-service store. The first self-service store is set up in Avirons. It opens the way for a new method of agricultural distribution and with it the opening of another 8 similar stores.
1989
The department of farmland equipment is set up.

1991
A Purchase Center is set up. From this year onwards, the Coopérative des Avirons have 5 decentralized points of sale to manage. It sets up a Purchase Center responsible for negotiating the price, quality and quantity of goods with suppliers. This enables it to ensure the same value for money to all its members.
1994
The start of a partnership with the Gamm Vert franchise. In 1994 the Coopérative des Avirons obtains the franchise for the Gamm Vert stores, a distribution brand of the National Union of Agricultural Cooperatives (INVIVO). This franchise will give a new boost to the network of self service stores set up since 1984.
1996
Agricultural machinery. This year marks the beginning of the cooperative's investment in agricultural machinery, an area whose addition completes its comprehensive service to farmers. It does so by taking over the management of the company GAMM AGRI. The sale of tractors is booming and since then the Coopérative des Avirons has become the market leader for the sale of this type of machinery on the island.
1997
The strength in uniting forces: CANAVI. A new united initiative with the cooperatives CANE and SICA LAIT to pool resources regarding the issue of the distribution of fertilizer and plant disease control products: CANAVI is set up . The objective of this new initiative for storage and packaging is to maintain the cost efficiency of production and distribution.
2004 Vert Cité. In 2004, the Coopérative des Avirons obtains the Vert Cité franchise which offers a complete range of government approved products appropriate for green spaces.
