For over 35 years, together with their traditional partners (ARMEFHLOR, the Chamber of Agriculture and CIRAD), the Coopérative des Avirons had been involved in the development of agricultural machinery which meets the specific geographical requirements of Reunion Island (sloping ground, small plots of land…) and the needs of the small farmers who are more and more affected by the lack of skilled labor.

• It has therefore entered into professional partnerships with a number of manufacturers for the development of innovative products for the harvesting of sugar cane: cane cutting machines, tractor harnesses or self propelled tractors, specific agricultural trailers…
  
• The Cooperative is also the sponsor of a project which seeks to adapt agricultural machinery to truck farming: carrots, onions, garlic and potatoes, from planting through to harvest.
